Learn how to add realism and age to your miniature creations with Shelley Acker from Freedom Miniatures. Shelley is coming all the way from Kentville, Nova Scotia. Here are the details of the workshop:This workshop explores ways to use paints, washes and pigments to give miniatures a realistic aged, weathered and worn look. You will try out these techniques yourself using supplied materials. You can choose to make your pieces look slightly worn or extremely worn – you get to indulge your preferences!

You will learn how to
  • give an exterior building wall a realistic outdoors look
  • make an aged downspout and rain barrel
  • age a wooden door to look like one that has been around for decades
  • add age, colour and weathering to a wooden door using various products
  • give indoor furniture a look consistent with a home that has been lived in a bit
  • give things a more realistic look

Participants will also learn how to add realistic looking water to the rain barrel. The scene is pictured in a very nice black picture frame which will be available for purchase separately for only $6.00 plus tax.

The cost of this workshop is $110 plus HST payable in advance by credit card, cash or e-transfer to Grandpa's Doll House. Please contact us to book your spot now as there are only 12 spots available, 6 on each day.
